Laura began her study of music at age 4, having a family friend teach her the piano. Sadly, her piano teacher moved away when Laura was 7 , but she kept practicing independently until she was 8 and her father asked her if she would like violin lessons. She gladly agreed. Laura began her study of the violin at age 8 with Houston Symphony vioinist Rodica Weber and still does. Since her study she has made Region Orchestra every grade since the 6th grade and was a violinist with the Houston Youth Symphony. Early on she aspired to be a musician. Later she decided to audition for the High School of Performing and Visual arts to achieve this goal. She attends the High School of Performing and Visual Arts and there she discovered the HSPVA composers club and became a member.
